Jon Stewart: Our Most Trusted Newsman

Well, it’s official: with Walter Cronkite gone, Jon Stewart is America’s “most trusted newscaster.” At least that’s the result of this TIME poll that pits him against the anchors of the nightly news shows for CBS, ABC, and NBC.

As an online poll with a small sample size that probably got hacked anyway, it’s not particularly trustworthy itself. But still, what does this say about the state of journalism in America? Do we actually have a dearth of trustworthy newscasters? Or are people just confusing “most trusted” with “funniest”? (via good.is)
